Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Still to be Released this Year

As many of you Xperia fans may have saw, there was a recent rumor from the guys over at Sony Ericsson Blog reporting that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 was going to be delayed until February of 2009. Luckily for you die-hard Xperia fans, that rumor has been smashed by Sony Ericsson Vice President of Global Communications Aldo Liguori in a statement to the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog - ‘I can confirm that we will be launching the X1 product in 2nd Half of 2008, as per our announcement of 10th February.’ - That is about as official and definitive as things can get, breath easy Xperia fans.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Delayed til 2009

You heard it right folks, the crew over at Sony Ericsson Blog have found an official Sony Ericsson webpage stating the expected release date of the Xperia X1 to be 2/10/2009. Sony Ericsson Blog is one of the most trusted Sony Ericsson resources on the web making this claim possibly very true.

If true, the wow factor of the Xperia X1 just may fade a little; who knows what we may see by 2009? We’ll bring you any updates as we receive them, but a delay would surely suck big time for those awaiting the Windows Mobile 6.1 running, dual touch and QWERTY sliding, sexy beast that is the Xperia X1.

Edit! - It seems that someone misinterpreted the date on the site, the date that was posted in World Format which is dd/mm/yyyy instead of mm/dd/yyyy. While this is still next year, its better then 18 months.
